ASB Separate Services White card, ASB73

Since the larger format (A5) separate edition of the Funeral Services from The Alternative Service Book 1980 was issued in November 1981, it has become clear that there is a considerable need for a smaller, cheaper edition in the standard ASB format with which churchgoers are now familiar. The content of ASB 62 is identical page for page with that of ASB 60 and with pages 305 to 336 of The Alternative Service Book, except that the page numbers and running footlines are in the (larger) type of the text. The print is in two colours. The choice between the two editions for any particular church or purchaser may well depend on the dimensions of the prayer-book rest on the back of the pew. The larger format with its larger type (ASB 60) will no doubt continue to be preferred for the use of elderly or poorly sighted worshippers.
