Cross and Sectional Anatomy of the Central Nervous System

This user-friendly, self-instructional cross-platform program is an introduction to neuroanatomy for medical students. Conceptualizing the anatomic structures of the Central Nervous System is particularly difficult because the student must visualize the brain in 3 dimensions. A variety of textbooks on neuroanatomy aim to assist students in both understanding and recognition of this complex organ system. The advantage of a CD-ROM is that the viewer can actually see the brain at different angles and in cross section, thereby identifying the anatomic site and corresponding function. The CD-ROM contains 73 images using an atlas, tutorial and quiz section, making it highly interactive and fun to use. Able to run on PC or Mac, this CD-ROM can be used as a stand-alone resource or in conjunction with printed or electronic books.
