Legal requirements
The accessibility requirements for us result from the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) and Verordnung zum Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSGV), derived from the European Accessibility Act (EAA). These laws and ordinances refer to the European Standard „Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services" (EN) 301 549, version 3.2.1, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.1, levels A and AA.
Compliance with accessibility requirements
Our online store is designed in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA to ensure that our website is accessible to all people.
We are constantly implementing measures to improve accessibility and the user experience with the website. This includes, for example:
- We make use of advice from digital accessibility experts.
- Employees have been and continue to be sensitized and trained on the topic of digital accessibility.
- Accessibility requirements have been integrated into relevant internal processes (concepts, design, development and others).
- We carry out automated and manual tests internally.
The measures implemented include:
Access and security: Our identification, authentication, security and payment functions are designed to be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for all users. This includes user-friendly login methods, barrier-free authentication and secure payment processes.
Functional performance criteria: We offer various forms of operation to ensure that our products and services can also be used by users with physical, sensory or cognitive limitations. These include:
- Visual alternatives: All content is accessible without color discrimination and there are text alternatives for users with limited vision
- Auditory alternatives: Our features do not require hearing and offer enhanced audio capabilities for users with hearing impairments.
- Manual interaction options: Our digital content is usable without fine motor control or significant hand muscle strength.
- Protection from visual stimuli: We avoid visual stimuli that could trigger photosensitive seizures.
- Support for cognitive impairment: We ensure that features to support cognitive impairments are provided to make it as easy as possible to use.
- Privacy when using accessibility features: All accessibility features deployed ensure the privacy of our users.
- Through regular reviews and adjustments, we ensure that our digital offerings comply with legal requirements and are continuously improved to ensure a high level of accessibility and security for all users.
