Tim Willocks was born in Stalybridge, Cheshire, in 1957 and studied medicine at University College Hospital Medical School. He qualified in 1983 and now specialises in the treatment of addiction. He is the author of two previous novels, Bad City Blues and Green River Rising. The latter was an international bestseller.
