Published to accompany a BBC Television series starting in July 1993, this book passes on her knowledge and practical advice and is designed to save money and time, and to alert parents to potential problems before they begin. The topics covered include first feeding, nappies and toilet-training, dressing, playing, behaving, growing and learning, bathing, sleeping, and weaning and eating. Nina Grunfeld was one of Nanny Smith's "children", and her previous books include "A Miscellany of Parents' Wisdom" and "Pregnancy Week by Week".
