Automating the Small Library

This is an overview of computer applications appropriate to small libraries - those institutions without the funding or staff to implement large, comprehensive systems. The author sketches out a general description of essential elements involved in automating aspects of library work as he describes the characteristics and capabilities of automated products and services in six broad application areas: circulation control, descriptive cataloging, online catalogue access, reference service, acquisitions and serials control, and library administration.
