The surgery of venous disease constitutes a large part of the work of the general surgeon. It can often be difficult surgery to carry out successfully, hence the frequency with which varicose veins and varicose ulcers recur. This book is concerned mainly with the management of common venous disorders, concentrating on those procedures that are relevant to general and vascular surgical practice everywhere. The book is aimed at the practising surgeon, in particular the surgical trainee, but it has been set out in a way that will also be of value to undergraduates and to all those medical and nursing staff concerned with the care of patients with venous disorders in operating theatres, clinics and wards.
