Although cerebral and spinal arteriovenous malformations are relatively uncommon lesions, they remain an unfortunate source of morbidity and mortality in neurosurgical patients. A more comprehensive approach to the treatment of AVMs has progressively improved the prognosis of patients with these lesions. This volume is a compendium of the most promising and effective of these recent trends , concepts, and techniques used in the approach to central nervous system arteriovenous malformations. Dissemination of this information is an attempt to further improve the outcome of patients suffering this challenging affliction.
