Drugs and Human Behavior

This text provides a general overview of the field of psychopharmacology and is most appropriate for second to third year level undergraduate students. It assumes no previous knowledge of biology or chemistry and includes definitions of technical jargon. The book covers commonly used psychoactive drugs; general factors of drug action in the nervous system; common properties of recreational/social drugs; and the theoretics of using drugs for treatment of mental and behavioural dysfuntion. It provides a balanced treatment of behavioural and psychological issues.
