The volume describes the properties of mononuclear organonickel compounds which have no carbon-bonded ligands other than CO and isonitriles. The few known compounds with ylides and CS are included. Not surprisingly, Ni(CO)4 and its versatile chemistry are still an active research area. A comprehensive overview of 90 pages allows quick access to the results reported in more than 700 publications. Included in this volume are the numerous examples of "normal" (CO)3Ni2D species, where 2D donor ligands range from simple amines to stannylene or germylene ligands, which became available recently, but also "unusual" compounds like those with phosphene ligands. Dinuclear, multinuclear, and cluster compounds which contain a single Ni(CO)n fragment and other transition metals are described in a separate chapter.
