Orientierung: Listening Activities for GCSE German

This is part of a German language course designed as a preparation for GCSE and Standard Grade exam pupils of all abilities. These cassettes offer listening resources on 12 topic areas which are relevant to all areas of experience in the National Curriculum - personal identification, house and home, free time and entertainment, shops, health and illness, geographical surroundings and sightseeing, travel and transport, holidays, food and drink, education and future career, family and accommodation. The aim is to encourage pupils to listen with a purpose for general and specific information. The two casettes feature dialogues, interviews, announcements, conversations etc. containing repetition, redundancy, background noise, colloquialisms and a wide range of language registers.
