Freut Mich!

These cassettes, together with a textbook which is available separately, aim to provide students with a grounding in the German language for use in common social situations as well as the ability to cope in business-related situations. "Freut mich!" contains the following elements: a structured approach to the grammar of the language with appropriate exercies; common social dialogues; business dialogues; written exercises to practice manipulation of the language; taped material in German to practice the student's comprehension of spoken German; background information (largely in German) with supplementary exercises. "Freut mich!" provides students with: competence in common business-related situations (comprehension of letters and other documentation, the ability to receive and leave telephone messages, to describe ones firm and understand descriptions of a job and/or a company from a German speaker); a knowledge of the social, economic and political background against which the language is spoken.
The course is aimed at students taking a language on HND/Degree courese or in a "Institution-Wide Language Programme" and at students on BTEC National courses with a GCSE-level knowledge of the language. It is also suited to in-company training courese and adult education classes.
