Arnold Lazarus was born in South Africa and received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of the Witwatersand in Johannesburg in 1960. He has taught at Temple University Medical School, Yale University and Rutgers University, where he is currently on the faculty. He has founded Multimodal Therapy Institutes in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Illinois, Ohio and Texas.
