James Bugental, who holds a Ph.D. from Ohio State University, has been an active therapist, teacher and writer in Existential-Humanistic Therapy for over 50 years. He was named a Fellow of the American Psychological Association in 1955, and was the first recipient of the APA's Division of Humanistic Psychology's Rollo May Award. He has held leadership positions in a number of professional organizations. Currently, he serves as a consultant and teacher, and continues to write about existential psychotherapy.
