Teijo Kemioensaari

Teijo's landscape is dominated by sea islands, lakes and rocky forests. In the low places, there are sedges, slope spruces and watery ravens, as well as a rare marsh in southern Finland. Canada goose, crane, liro and teal nest here; among mammals you can meet roe deer and lynx. There are 50 kilometers of nature trails and marked routes. Hikers are also served by log cabins, campfire sites, tent areas and a rental cabin. Game fish are planted in Matildanjaervi for the pleasure of recreational fishermen. Halikonlahti's ironworks tell of an industry that started in the 17th century. Kemioensaari is known for well-marked routes and unforgettable island experiences.
