The doyen of cricket writers and broadcasters, Jim Swanton, relives some of the most significant historical and sporting moments of the 20th century. Interspersed with archive BBC radio broadcasts and in conversation with David Rayvern Allen, he recalls childhood memories of the Silvertown explosion, the death of Kitchener, his own time at "The Evening Standard", the epic Lord's Test Match of 1930, his first broadcast in 1934, his period as a prisoner of the Japanese on the Burma/Siam railway, and his years as cricket correspondent of "The Daily Telegraph".
