Harvard University Library contains works dating back to the late 1630s. This international bibliographic resource of works, encompassing the holdings of some 80 Harvard Libraries on approximately 5.8 million cards has been filmed on microfiche. "The Harvard Union Catalog" is primarily an author catalogue, listing all authors and titles of works held in the Harvard University Library system in one alphabetical sequence. The "Catalogue" contains works from the 15th century to 1980 and covers a broad range of publications printed or written in Roman, Greek or Cyrillic alphabets, including books, pamphlets, journals and other serials, government docuements, dissertations, atlases, music and microforms.
