The front cover of this new publication includes a logo with the words: 'Mapping sourced from Ordance Survey'. Note that the title is 'Lancaster Street Map' and not 'Plan'. On the inside front cover there is an inset map which is an extension southwards to the University of Lancaster. The back cover features the key map which shows the continuous street map coverage from central Lancaster and Morcambe to Hest Bank in the north, junction 34 on the M6 motorway in the east, Scotchforth and Middleton in the south and Heysham and Morcambe Bay in the west. Also included is a coloured circular symbol which features our web site address. The reference panel which is to the top left of the map area shows a new colour scheme that depicts important buildings with different colour infills e.g. educational establishments have an orange infill and hospitals and hospices have a green infill. Roads that have restricted access are shown with a purple infill and pedestrianized roads have a pink infill. Fire Stations and Post Offices are shown by red squares and stars respectively, while Police Stations are represented by a blue triangle. Parking symbols are shown in blue.
The scale is in metric as well as imperial. The street index panel which is to the left of the mapping includes selected places of interest which are highlighted in red type.
