Lanzarote Tour & Trail Map 2nd edition Super-Durable version covers this big island at a scale of 1:40,000 resulting in the most detailed and toughest map of Lanzarote that you can buy. All the country walking routes from our new Walk! Lanzarote 2nd edition (published August 2009) are clearly detailed. Detailed updating for the 2nd edition includes mapping Puerto del Carmen's new golf course and inner bypass, Playa Blanca's urban/incomplete development, as well as the new walking routes. We have also included a full island map of La Graciosa at 1:40,000 scale for those people adventuring or staying on the island. Digital editions of this map are available for use on mobile phone apps from Viewranger, Memory Map and MyTrails, plus versions for mapping gps units and gps software are available from Mapyx Quo and Memory Map. Getting such a large island onto one map sheet at 1:40,000 scale means that we have had to split the island into a North-East section on one side and a South-West section on the other side, with a generous overlap between the sections.
At 1:40,000 scale the level of detail we can include on the map is awesome compared to any other map of the island that you can buy. In addition to the usual high level of detail on our "Tour & Trail Maps" we have introduced special 'lava' fills to define the lava fields and a 'zocos' fill to define the famous La Geria region. The result is the definitive map of Lanzarote. Super-Durable version is produced on a special polymer substrate (Polyart) using 100% oxygenation inks which results in a map that is virtually tear proof, water proof, baby proof, almost dog proof and will outlast any paper map many times over.

Lanzrote Gazette Sept 2009 Walkers' Bible Tourists and residents who fancy getting off the beaten track and exploring Lanzarote's more hidden secrets are well catered to with David and Ros Brawn's new edition of their already classic Walk! Lanzarote guidebook. Lanzarote is a small island, but even long-time residents can still find beautiful corners they've never come across before. With the summer sun starting to ease off, it's the ideal time to explore the island further, and the new edition of Walk! Lanzarote should be a vital aid to anyone who wants to make the most of this varied and wonderful place. With 35 walks of varying difficulty, and taking in the island from the verdant north to the spectacular volcanoes of the south, the book is full of great ideas, and now features new maps allowing you to follow the walks more easily, GPS co-ordinates are included for techno-savvy ramblers, and the whole book is characterised by the authors' breezy and conversational style. A good example of this are the pages devoted to 'thingies', otherwise known as the public works of sculpture that can be seen all over the island. Cesar Manrique's wind toys are the classic 'thingies', but other examples of public art are included, and some of the less attractive ones get short shrift indeed! There are also brief and informative articles about Lanzarote's history, agriculture and nature which are designed to help walkers understand what is around them without feeling they're being lectured on a school outing. Lanzarote's bus service is covered in depth for walkers who don't have cars, and pretty much anything else a rambler on the island might need to know is included as well. The Walk! Lanzarote guide is issued alongside a new edition of the Lanzarote Tour & Trail map - a 1:40,000 scale chart printed on super-durable paper that is also a godsend to those who wish to explore the island. http://www.gazettelanzarote.com/ page 18 September 2009 edition
