Visual Liturgy: Initiation Services

These are the services for the Church of England, authorized for use from 11 April 1998 until further resolution of the General Synod. They will replace those in the ASB and are alternative to those in the 1662 "Book of Common Prayer", which will remain a permanent feature of the Church's worship. The Visual Liturgy module includes sevices for baptism, confirmation, affirmation of baptismal faith and reception into the Communion of the Church of England. Features include an opportunity for testimony by candidates and the possibility of clothing with a white robe after the baptism, drawing on ancient tradition to link practical necessity and scriptural imagery.
