This package offers over 40 hours of exercise and feedback to help students learn financial accounting concepts. The software places the student in an office environment as if working for a company. After completing each exercise, he or she will be promoted and will receive salary adjustments based on performance. The software provides students with immediate feedback, and allows instructors to monitor the progress of their class on an individual basis. With the introduction of new technology, distance learning courses and new accounting terminology, the authors met with users to discuss improvements to this market leading software, allowing them to address the needs of students in the new millennium, and provide instructors with a more flexible product. Some of the changes include more evenly placed modules, the ability to communicate and update exercises via the Internet by students, and a more network-friendly interface. The managerial aspects have been improved with the inclusion of spreadsheet type data to keep track of student performance throughout the year. The software has undergone a new face-lift in all the lesson modules.
All lessons are now easier to read and are more graphical in nature. The lesson navigator bar has been refined and is easier to use. Instructor grade books have been updated using a spreadsheet type control to store student lesson status information, and there is a new on-line help system with over 8MB of space available.
