The user can hear over 52,000 words pronounced by a team of experts, headed by Professor John Wells - words like "squirm", "drought", "Leicester" and "wretched"; see video bring grammar to life on the screen, with people shown in real-life situations - scripts are shown in full; learn all about a word, from the way it's pronounced to how it's used and common usage errors. In addition the user can discover the cultural meanings hidden within words through colour illustrations and special cultural entries such as "The National Enquirer", "Cinderella", "Rodeo Drive" and "Carl Lewis" from the "Longman Dictionary of English Language and Culture". There are 15,000 cultural entries. Thus with the "Longman English Grammar" and the "Longman Dictionary of English Language and Culture" as its backbone, this CD-ROM brings English to life using sound and vision. To run the program the user needs an 80386SX PC running MS-DOS 5 and Windows 3.1
