Dr. Sombir Kundu received his B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, India, in 2011. He completed his M.Tech in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems from Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal, Sonepat, Haryana, in 2014. He was awarded his Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, in 2023. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at MMEC, Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana, Ambala, Haryana, a position he has held since August 2024. Prior to this, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Ganga Institute of Technology and Management, Jhajjar, Haryana, from May 2022 to July 2024. He began his academic career in August 2014 at the School of Engineering and Technology (a unit of Ganga Technical Campus), Bahadurgarh, Haryana, where he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. He has authored and co-authored over 16 research papers published in reputed international journals, including Elsevier, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, and Springer. He has also contributed to 8 book chapters published by renowned publishers such as Elsevier and CRC Press. In December 2023, he served as a session chair at the International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Simulation, and Optimization, held in Goa. In recognition of his scholarly contributions, he received the Research & Innovation Excellence Award from Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, in 2024. He is currently an editor for Scientific Reports, a journal published by Springer Nature. His research interests include power electronics, renewable energy systems, microgrids, power quality enhancement, and the application of adaptive and robust control techniques in microgrid environments.
Ashutosh K Giri received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from College of Technology, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar Uttarakhand, India, in 2002, M.E in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power System from the L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, in 2005 and Ph.D. from the department of Electrical Engineering, Sardar Vallabh National Institute of Technology, Surat, India in 2020. In May 2011, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Government Engineering College, Bharuch, as an assistant professor. He has authored and co-authored more than 60 research articles in reputed journals such as IEEE Transactions, IET Journal, Wiley, Tailor Francis, Springer. He has also authored and co-authored 10 book chapters published in Elsevier, Springer Publication, and CRC Press. Also, he has edited or authored 5 books in Elsevier, CRC Press, and Springer Nature Singapore, respectively. He is working on four sponsored research projects. He is supervising or co-supervising 6 Ph.D. students (1 completed in DTU New Delhi and 5 in progress in GTU, Ahmedabad, and other universities) and coordinated 6 Short Term Courses. He has delivered more than 35 national and international level expert talks at various reputed universities across India. He had received a Research Opportunity Week (ROW) scholarship and visited Technical University of Munich Germany in March-April 2019.
Dillip Kumar Mishra (S'15, M'22, SM'24) earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Clemson University, USA. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT University, India, and prior to that, he was the Research Assistant Professor in Automotive Engineering, Clemson University, USA.
Dr. Mishra is actively involved in IEEE leadership, holding positions as Chair of the IEEE Young Professionals, Piedmont Section (USA), and Vice-Chair of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society (Global). Additionally, he was the President of the Postdoctoral and Early Professional Society (PEPS) at Clemson University.
With over 50 publications, including 19 journal articles, 22 conference papers, 10 book chapters, and two books, Dr. Mishra has made significant contributions to his field. He serves as an editor and guest editor for prestigious journals and publishers such as Wiley, Elsevier, Frontiers in Energy Research, and IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics (Special Section). He has also chaired session at the IECON 2025 conference and served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Control Systems Society Conference.
