Kenneth S. Alexander is Professor Emeritus at the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy who after 44 years of teaching retired in 2016. During his tenure at the University of Toledo he developed the MS Industrial Pharmacy program which graduated approximately 140 students from 1988 thru 2016. He also developed the BSPS Pharmaceutics program in 2002 as well as the BSPS Cosmetic Science program in 2012. He is the author of more than 80 publications, 6 book chapters, 100 posters and 1 book. He personally mentored more than 106 MS students through their thesis and had more than 80 of these students go on to pursue their PhD at other institutions. The remainder pursued employment in pharmaceutical and chemical industries in the USA or returned to their country to prosper in their pharmaceutical industry. He is currently a private consultant for Formulation and Product Development as well as Pharmaceutical CE courses for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
Perry Romanowski has spent the past 30 years researching and developing products in the personal care and cosmetic industry. His primary focus has been on formulating hair-related products. He is currently vice president of Element 44 Inc, which specializes in science education and is responsible for the consumer-focused podcast, TheBeautyBrains.com, and the cosmetic science website, ChemistsCorner.com. Previously, Romanowski worked for Alberto Culver, serving as a senior project leader for innovation. He has been an active member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) and is past president. Currently, he is the Education Committee chair for the IFSCC. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry from DePaul University and his M.S. in Biochemistry. He has written and edited numerous articles and books. He also teaches the SCC's Beginning Cosmetic Chemistry continuing education class.
