"Science in the Real World" consists of two books of photocopymasters containing 60 pupils' worksheets and teacher's guides primarily for use in the 11-16 age range. The copymasters are suitable for "balanced" and "integrated" science courses leading to single or dual certification for GCSE. The teacher's guide for each worksheet outlines the learning objective, supplies suggestions for organization and also provides at-a-glance information about the applicability of the sheets to the Science courses of the various Examination Board Groups in England and Wales. In addition, there is information relating to National Curriculum Attainment Targets, Levels of Attainment, assessment, and to other related activities and sheets in the two books. The three key sheets provide further cross-references for the copymasters, syllabuses and skill areas. The materials, written and tried out by two experienced science teachers, have been designed particularly for use with middle- and low-ability students, although experience has shown that these copymasters have much wider application as extension, consolidation and revision work with higher grade students.
