Material Environmental Data Sheets

Responding to the needs of small enterprises who must acknowledge consumer pressures and government regulations with respect to the very limited materials they employ, this work provides datasheets on 300 chemicals, representing some 80 per cent of those in common industrial use. The book provides a selected number of environmental characteristics which are presented on a standard data sheet, permitting an easy comparison of chemicals. Data for the following characteristics are presented: the most important physical properties; odour threshold values; half-life times in biodegradability tests, soils, sediments and aquifers; and atmospheric half-life time. It also covers the fate of chemicals in an aerobic biological wastewater treatment plant.
