Thomas Vorce (1942-2011), a student of Minor White and Paul Caponigro, pioneered fine art computer graphics and digital manipulation.

Vorce worked on the shadow works until they fulfilled his strategic intention-to make contemplative art. He wanted to move people to see the dance of light and dark as a seductive mystery. He said he hoped his pictures would "make people live more slowly."
