Im/Perfect Family takes place in Sanders, Kentucky in the early years of World War II. The Irish Catholic Maguire family is hated for that, plus the youngest brother, Barney, whom they have kept at home is Mongoloid (Down Syndrome). Dad, Jeff Maguire, goes to war to fight the Nazi's leaving wife, Jana the five kids to fight for her, Barney, the farm and each other. Their only back up is an unemployed Catholic priest, Uncle Angus Gallagher, and unpopular Uncle Mike Maguire, a battle-hardened, disabled fighter pilot coming home from China after fighting with The Flying Tigers. This is their story of hardship, victories, growing up and surviving.
