Imaging of the pediatric chest continues to evolve rapidly. All chapters in this 2nd edition of "Pediatric Chest Imaging" have been extensively updated, with additional disease-specific information and numerous new illustrations. The role of advanced technology in the diagnosis of pediatric chest disorders is highlighted, special attention being paid to the technical aspects of modern imaging modalities, their indications, and the diagnostic information that they supply. While some chapters focus on the use and role of individual modalities, others address a wide range of specific disorders. Without exception, the authors are internationally known experts in the field. This superbly illustrated book, which is unique in covering all the essential aspects of pediatric chest imaging, will serve as an invaluable reference for all specialists who routinely image children as well as for those who need access to information on how best to image them!
From the reviews of the second edition:
"This book includes discussions of both the technical aspects of imaging the pediatric chest and diseases of particular concern in the pediatric population. . The topic and emphasis are appropriate and the book meets the editors' objectives. In my opinion, the book is appropriate for practicing pediatricians, both general and specialized, as well as pediatric radiologists and general radiologists performing pediatric studies. As such, it is useful for trainees in those areas." (Lisa Diethelm, Doody's Review Service, February 2008)
"Drs. Lucaya and Strife plus their international team are back on the lime with a most impressive second edition of their book. . I believe this book to be of great theoretical and practical importance and stress this opinion. I hope it will be used at large non only by paediatric radiologists but also by all radiologists who have to deal with chest disease in children as well as by Paediatricians, Pneumologists and Paediatric Surgeons. . it should become a must in all Radiology Schools." (Giampiero Beluffi, Radiologia Medica, Vol. 113, 2008)
"The book has 18 chapters covering most imaging modalities. ... this book is meant for radiology house staff and practicing radiologists. ... The large number of interesting cases makes it an invaluable teaching tool and reference book for those embarking on a career in pediatric radiology, as well as those practicing pediatric radiology." (Bruce J. Barron, The Journal of Nuclear Medicine, Vol. 49 (9), September, 2008)
"This updated second edition of Pediatric Chest Imaging: Chest Imaging in Infants and Children highlights 'continued advancements in imaging technology' that are improving patient care and the understanding of chest diseases. . This book takes on a grand task and serves its readers well. I believe medical libraries, pediatric and pulmonary radiologists, and pediatricians with an interestin chest imaging would benefit from buying this fine and interesting textbook." (Harris L. Cohen, Radiology, Vol. 252 (1), July, 2009)
Both editors have been Chairs of large pediatric radiology departments: Dr. Lucaya was Chair at Vall d'Hebron Hospital, Barcelona, Spain, and Dr. Strife was Chair at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, USA. They have both had a life-long interest in pediatric chest imaging, and are great teachers and writers. They have selected internationally acclaimed authors, all of whom have expertise in imaging the pediatric chest. The international approach adds diversity of opinion as well as guaranteeing expertise in selected areas of controversy. All authors are advocates for the reduction of radiation in children.

Systemvoraussetzungen:
