This series of paperback books covers the major aspects of sociolinguistics that form substantial and identifiable parts of linguistics degree courses. As a whole, the series provides a comprehensive introduction to the subject. Each volume focuses on an important topic within sociolinguistics and is designed to offer a critical overview as well as insights derived from the author's own research. The series is aimed at undergraduates in linguistics at second or third year levels as well as academics and postgraduates with an interest in socially oriented approaches to language.
