About the Author
Ed Horan was one of the original FEA 'Certified Exchange Specialist®'. Ed holds a Masters' Degree in Business. He is a nationally recognized expert on IRC section 1031 Like Kind Exchanges.
He founded Realty Exchange Corporation in 1990, a company that only serves as a qualified intermediary, and is a senior consultant. In his prior career he served as a pilot and comptroller with the United States Air Force, and was licensed as a real estate broker.
Ed has been a frequent writer and lecturer on residential real estate investments, exchanges, and the impact of taxes on real estate transactions and real estate professionals, including the impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). He was approved as a Continuing Education Instructor in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
