This main theme of the 20th International Congress of Neurovegetative Research reflects the enormous scope and importance of medical research relating to the autonomic nervous system. The field of neurovegetative research is attracting interdisciplinary interest from both basic medical research scientists and clinicians. This volume covers recent advances and introduces new insight into the autonomic nervous system, notably the interaction between autonomic nervous system and immune processes, biorhythm and psychosomatic processes, occurring in the body and mind. Its content was extracted from 10 special lectures, 13 symposia and many free papers and contributes to a growing body of research stemming from the most innovative methodologies and broad-based approaches.
