This manual is intended to accompany Algebra and Trigonometry, Third Edition, by Dennis G. Zill and Jacqueline M. Dewar. It consists of four parts, described below.
Use of a Calculator This part is not intended to be a comprehensive manual on the use of a graphing calculator in a Precalculus course. While much of the material discussed will be pertinent to any graphing calculator, the references in this manual will be to the TI-84 family of calculators. After a few brief comments on the use of the TI-84 calculator, this manual will focus on how to use the calculator to either assist in the solution of some of the problems in the text or to check that your solution is correct or at least reasonable.
Basic Skills This is a list for each section in the text of the skills needed to solve the more manipulative problems in the section.
Selected Solutions Here, complete solutions to every third problem (starting with Problem 3) in each section of the text are given. Solutions are not provided for Calculator Problems or for the problems For Discussion.
Final Examination Answers As indicated by the title of this part, the answers are provided for each of the 80 problems on the final examination.
