Corporate Abuse

What exactly is "corporate abuse"? It is a dehumanizing attitude built into the policies, structures and operations of a business. It may be expressed in the bullying of an employee by a particular manager, or on a bigger scale, by a company that will hire, promote and defend bullies. It may be poor working conditions or a company that will not alter those conditions. Overwork, endless transfers, lack of support for innovation, office politics, in-house competition - all of these and more. This text explains how this attitude is a natural outcome of the transition from a manufacturing to an information-based economy. And ironically, this abuse is decimating the geese who are searching for the golden egg: profits in this information age depend on the free flow of creative minds, and nothing stifles this more than an abusive workplace. But this work is more than an anti-management polemic.
