From the manufacture of guns in the 19th century, the Birmingham Small Arms company turned its attention to bicycles and eventually motorcycles. The company's "piled arms" trademark became synonymous with high quality and enduring products. It enjoyed 60 years of success before its demise in the 1970s. This book chronicles the full story of BSA, its competition history and all the models it produced, including the household names, such as the Roundtank, Sloper, Empire Star, Gold Star, Bantam and Golden Flash.
