Festivals and Celebrations

This book provides a range of innovative ideas for including the celebration of festivals in the early years curriculum. The book offers a natural framework for curriculum planning as well as providing opportunities to develop children's awareness of our multicultural society. The six major world religions are represented, as well as seasonal and family celebrations - and the significance of each festival is explained. The activities involve work in all areas of the curriculum with a look at family celebrations; spring, summer, autumn and winter festivals and celebrations.
