Fran Wedge, PT, DScPT, MSc, GCS (Emeritus), CEEAA, graduated from the Royal Orthopedic Hospital School of Physiotherapy, Birmingham, England. Fran obtained her Master of Science degree in professional development from the University of Greenwich, London, and Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Having worked primarily in geriatrics, Fran became a Board-Certified Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy in 2000. Fran recently retired as the program director for the PTA program at Morton College in Cicero, Illinois, and currently works as an educational consultant for developing PT and PTA programs. Nationally, Fran has served as chair of the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy task force examining entry-level competencies in geriatric physical therapy for the PTA, has attended item-writing workshops, and served on the TOEFL task force for the FSBPT. Fran is an on-site reviewer for CAPTE. At the state level, Fran has served on ethics, membership, and new careers committees for the Illinois Physical Therapy Association and was a member of the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Physical Therapy Board from 2015-2022.
