Dictionary of Forestry

Contains terms relating to both the science and practice of forestry and should be a useful teaching aid and reference for those involved with developing forestry management. Attention has been paid to the fact that forestry terminology has developed differently in different language areas, in direct relation to the various activities carried out. For example, the Anglo-American technical language is rich in such fields as logging, transport and fire control, while the German has more silvicultural terms.
