Andean Insights is a fascinating description of the ancient sites visited by the authors during many fact-finding trips to South America. It comprehensively covers all the major Andean sites from the Tiahuanaco up to Buritaca in Columbia and includes such coastal sites as Pachacamac, Sechin and the world famous Nazca lines. The authors Gurth and Maria Walton share an interest in the often anomalous evidence from ancient sites indicating that earlier civilisations had knowledge of useful techniques that has since been lost. The ups and downs of travel are vividly and amusingly described, making this a valuable work of reference on all levels.
