The exercises and activities of this coursebook are arranged in 12 units. They provide sufficient material for a 2 hour per week language course on classroom language, i.e. the language needed by teachers (and pupils) to conduct classroom business in English. They cover standard situations (such as classroom surroundings, lesson beginnings and ends, working with texts, with modern technology etc.) in each case moving from reminders (information pages) via formal exercises (worksheets) to opportunities for using the appropriate language repertoire in less controlled situations (role plays and teaching suggestions). The materials were developed primarily for (German-speaking) future teachers of English during initial training, e.g. the at university. They have, however, also been used successfully with practising teachers, in in-service training and re-training schemes.
