Understanding urban life as a continuous film, Engin Uzunkaya's analog photographs can be seen as still frames. Divided into day and night, Uzunkaya depicts in color and black-and-white a portrait of the industrial city of Linz and its diverse society: sometimes harshly spotlighted, sometimes sensitively arranged, different social realities, generations, and communities are extracted from the flow of public urban space. This first publication thus brings together portrait, city and landscape views from the past seven years and provides insight into the work of the young Austrian photographer.
Engin Uzunkaya, *1983 in Linz, Austria; lives and works in Linz.
