John Elting Treat is vice president of Booz.Allen and is responsible for management consulting to the international petroleum industry. His recent work includes assignments for national and international oil companies in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Prior to joining Booz.Allen he served as president of Regent International, a venture capital company with investments in energy and other industries as an executive publisher of Petroleum Intelligence Weekly. He was a partner in the investment banking firm of Bear, Stearns and Company, where he founded that company's energy group, following his tenure as president of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). Mr Treat has served in a variety of senior positions in the U.S. government, including the position of White House energy adviser as a member of the National Security Council Staff under presidents Carter and Reagan and Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Affairs in the U.S. Department of Energy.
