Openings

This is part of a series on reading and literature being developed by "Penguin English". The principal aim of the book is to shows that literature can be accessible and rewarding. Part one consists of 40 extracts which have been chosen mainly from contemporary literature from around the world, while the second part consists of activities which can be done with the texts. The introduction contains detailed guidelines for the teacher on how to set up the activities, examples of lesson plans and suggestions for follow-up work.
