«Gregorius» and «Der Arme Heinrich»

Two historical forms of dualism are distinguished, their characteristics are described and, while the author finds parallels in contemporary vernacular sermons, his description of gradualism, the second central concept of the study is based on Augustine. The author shows how poetic elements reflect philosophical and theological differences in Hartmann's shorter narratives.
