The Real Ale Pub Guide is constantly being updated and expanded by a team of experienced researchers focusing on their local areas. The project was originally conceived under the guidance of Graham Titcombe, whose awards include Regional Cellarman of the Year and Beer Man of the Year from The Good Pub Guide. He built up several successful businesses exploring and selling the best hand-made beers, and his pubs have been awarded CAMRA's Area Pub of the Year. Now spearheading the research team is national-newspaper journalist, Nicolas Andrews, who has an extensive knowledge of - and a serious passion for - real ale.
