The Real Ale Pub Guide is updated and expanded each year by a team of experienced researchers, many focusing on their local area. The book was originally conceived under the guidance of Graham Titcombe, whose awards include Regional Cellarman of the Year and Beer Man of the Year from The Good Pub Guide. He built up several successful businesses exploring and selling the best of hand-made beers, and his pubs have been awarded CAMRA's Area Pub of the Year. Among the journalists on the team is Nicolas Andrews, a London-based writer for national newspapers, who has an extensive knowledge of, and a serious interest in, real ale.
