Alexander Thamm is a founder, CEO and pioneer in the field of data and artificial intelligence (AI). His mission is to create value from data and put Germany and Europe back on track to compete at eye level with the AI superpowers, the USA and China. He is a founding member of the German AI Association, a keynote speaker and the author of numerous publications on big data and AI. Alex is also the co-founder of the DATA Festival, where AI experts and visionaries design the data-driven world of tomorrow.
In 2012, he founded Alexander Thamm GmbH (AT), the first data science consultancy in Germany. Today, the company is one of the leading data and AI consultancies in the German-speaking region, with more than 150 experts. AT has successfully implemented more than 600 data science and AI projects and is the trusted partner of medium and large clients across all industries, including 20 corporations of the German DAX-30.
With the Data Journey, Alex developed a coherent system to drive AI adoption and business value for companies, governments and non-profits. He also founded the Data Academy to share knowledge with everyone, in order to create a better world based on new technologies.
Michael Gramlich is an instructor and freelance consultant for data science, machine learning, and data strategy. Before that, he worked as a data scientist at Alexander Thamm GmbH consulting for multinational corporations across Europe. He is passionate about implementing data science and machine learning projects end-to-end, from their conception until the deployment of operational data products that generate real value.
The only thing he loves more than getting his hands dirty with data is sharing his expertise and experience, which he has done in many trainings for various international companies and universities. He holds a master's degree in International Economics from the Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement Geneva. Dr. Alexander Borek is a data executive, book author and keynote speaker. In his current role, he serves as the Global Head of Data, Analytics & AI at Volkswagen Financial Services. Before, he led the data analytics transformation at Volkswagen Group and worked as a consultant at Gartner and IBM, where he had advised Global Fortune 500 executives in multiple industries. Dr. Borek is the co-author of the books "Ultimate Data & AI Guide", "Total Information Risk Management" and "Marketing with Smart Machines". He holds a PhD from the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge.
