TERU Diagnostic Tests in Design and Technology: Developing Your Ideas Test 2

This is part of an assessment package for Design and Technology students, providing four paper-based tests which enable teachers to diagnose pupils' strengths and weaknesses and to monitor progress as Design and Technology capability develops throughout Key Stages 3 and 4. The package can be used with individual pupils, groups or whole classes within a single teaching session. Taking the context of elderly people in the home, the four tests target specific aspects of Design and Technology. The tests support the Teacher Assessment required within the National Curriculum and each test can be carried out through the medium of construction materials, textiles and/or food. The tests cater for a wide ability range, and pupils are enabled to respond in words and pictures or diagrams. The teacher's file also includes photocopiable materials and profile sheets.
