This volume goes to the source of power and intellect in 30 large companies, in both high-tech and mature industries, whose influence spans the globe: all are notable for their record in mastering the fast pace of socio-economic change that governs many of today's most formidable business challenges. The CEOs featured in the volume are experts in decisions that get results, and in philosophy that leads to success. Their thinking is, by necessity, innovative and timely. These contemporary practitioners of management, who are daily shaping the entire world business terrain, discuss how ideas are translated into action and strategy into deeds. Among the critical focus areas are: globalization - preparing for, leading and responding to the removal of market barriers; creating loyalty to one's customers; instilling innovation and harnessing the creativity of an organization; unconventional frameworks for growth; leveraging corporate cultures and values to enhance performance; using organizational structure to drive change; and invigorating transformational change.
