Owning a house means much more than only shelter for rural poor. Housing also provides security from natural and social threats such as natural disasters, wild animals, heavy rains, sun or thieves. Further it can improve status, self-expression, self-esteem and dignity. Housing is important not only from a social but also from an economical point of view and so rural housing affects various features of human development. The major data collection method was interviews. The main findings of this research focus on the change in peoples living standards and to what extent it impacted their life. Housing provides an opportunity to enhance existing living standards, with better access to basic amenities with improved environmental condition. Also, this study imparts useful knowledge about how this scheme was implemented and what positive and negative things happened throughout its execution from ¿people¿s perception through their own experiences¿.
